Dream University has been in existence for five days, and
here are some of the stories covering the beginning of our action. So far, the
largest news agency to cover Dream U has been the Associated Press, whose
article "Illegal Immigrants Hold Teach-in to Push Bill" was picked up
by numerous news outlets, including Huffington Post.
The first class at "Dream University" – a school with informal classes and volunteer professors and instructors from around the country – was held Wednesday outside the White House, with more planned in the weeks ahead. Students don't get credit for the classes, but they're free.
The first class of about 27 students, several wearing white DREAM University T-shirts, gathered at Lafayette Park, across from the White House.
The post Protest U, by the protest-chronicling blog Quotidian Dissent, highlighted that the concept of DREAM U stands out from other protesters because of what it emphasizes: "listening".
Fox25 in Boston covered it here, and AZ Central talked about the students from Arizona coming for this week's actions.
